Shells are extremely powerful command interpreters, which can make daily tasks incredibly easy and fast. The file operations possible with these tools are endless. Many people have solved problems in various creative manners using shells. The time required to learn their use is nominal compared to the time saved by learning their use. Some behave in similar ways, yet have their own special features. Test as many as necessary until one is found that best serves your needs.
